Home for longer than anywhere else on this list — the hikes I kept coming back to on weekends when I wasn't supposed to be working, and the city that ended up shaping the whole second half of the trip. It never felt like a stop on an itinerary; it felt like where I lived for a while.
Most of what I loved about it had nothing to do with the usual list of sights — it was the routine, the neighbourhood, the people I kept running into on the same trails.
